"How are you feeling?" I keep repeating the question so often that I'm sure Keller is getting tired of hearing it, but I want to make sure he's okay.

"I'm fine, I don't need to go to the hospital—let's go back to the lodge. I just need some rest."

The car awkwardly jerks forward as I drive, although Keller is kind enough to not say anything. It's been awhile since I've driven a car; I usually walk or take the bus around Wintergate since it's such a small town. Plus, Keller's sporty convertible is completely different from anything I've driven before.

After more of my unnecessary questions and Keller's reassurance, I carefully turn into the parking lot for the lodge and take the closest spot near one of the side doors. I inch forward into the parking space, not wanting to scratch the paint, and after I park and shut off the engine I run around to the passenger side to help Keller out of the seat.

"Don't worry, I don't need any help," he says as he slowly steps outside, placing a hand to his head. "All I need is some medicine for this headache."

I ignore his insistence that he doesn't need help and walk with him to the door—my omega instincts calling me to nurture and fuss over an injured alpha. We decided to quietly enter through the side door to avoid my noisy coworkers watching us and making a scene, and to save me from water-cooler gossip.

After we walk down the hall, I stand next to Keller in front of the elevator doors expectantly, fully intending on helping him up to his room.

"You don't have to help me. Go get some rest in your room. I'll be fine," Keller says, although I don't move from where I stand. Instead, I accompany him inside the elevator and watch as he pushes the button for the top floor, sighing with resignation.

I stay close to him as we exit the elevator and walk down the end of the hall. He stops in front of the Wintergate Suite, the nicest room in the entire lodge, and presses his key card up to the lock, opening the door and stepping inside.

I've only seen this room once before when I toured the building during my first day of work. When I toured this suite in the past, I remember being amazed by the beautiful views of the mountains from the large windows that wrap around the corner—the snow-crested peaks still visible in the light of the full moon.

I try to memorize all of the details in the room as I walk with Keller to the main bedroom off of the living area, one of two bedrooms in the suite. He sits on the edge of the oversized bed, and before he can say anything I rush into the kitchen to grab a cold, wet towel for his injury.

I rush back into the bedroom and carefully dab the towel along Keller's face, relishing the scent of sage as I stand close.
